OFFICIAL 240/Etto L4D DLC Guide *05/07/09*

This is everything you'll need to update your Left4Dead to version 1.0.1.3.

You need only one file!

I have created an All-in-One file so you can install one patch and instantly be up to date!

~Step1~ Run the installer in your L4D folder. The installer will update all files necessary to get to v13 including the missing sounds and textures others were missing (this even includes the 2 last missing sounds!). It will even automatically update your soundcache file as well!

~Step2~ At the end of the install it will prompt you automatically to install the standalone patch 1.18RC2. Continue with that install and then you are good to go!

This is a standalone patch that updates the new content. Not a mod but an actual patch from Steam.

Run the 1.19a Standalone so you may play without having to start Steam.

~Hosting a server~

To host a server you MUST run it via the console, not by creating a lobby. Open your command console with tilde (~)

Coop - Just type a map name into your command console from the main menu. i.e.map l4d_hospital01_apartment for the No Mercy campaign.

Versus- Type a versus map name into your console from the main menu. i.e.map l4d_vs_hospital01_apartment for the No Mercy versus campaign. Mke sure you first specify the game mode by typing in mp_gamemode versus.

Survival - From the main menu type mp_gamemodesurvival; map l4d_sv_lighthouse into your command console. Once ingame you can change the map via the Change level command or simply by voting.

That's it, you're done!

Few things to note:
If you are installing the patches to a new l4d folder you must first install 1.0.1.1 the then 1.0.1.2 and then 1.0.1.3. If you fail to install 11 you risk corrupting your l4d folder. This also results in the common infected sliding around flat on the floor. A quite funny but annoying glitch. By using my one all-in-one file you do not need to install 11 first.

If you having problems with the sounds after you installed the survival pack without fix, go to Left 4Dead/left4dead/maps/soundcache and delete _master.cache then should work as normal or typesnd_rebuildaudiocache in your console to fix it.

To disable the fps thing, go to your console and type net_graph 0

To change to default crosshair, go to your console and type cl_crosshair_dynamic 1

I will add more notes as I or Ettokun see fit.

can i hav just the _master.cache file? bcos i duwan download the whole big file just for that tiny little file....and preferably to mediafire which uploads  and downlaods fast....Thanks very much in advance.

poke... so far, there's apparently a lot of problems with convertins to v13, but hopefully things will smooth out. thanks for doing your best

I had to reinstall windows (BSOD -.-) so I have yet to able to test v13 ill let you know what we find.

I have not encountered any errors with version 1.0.1.3. Please clarify what kind of problems you are dealing with, so we can try and help you.

Hi, please don't call it v13, people get confused with Standalone versions.

If you don't want to call it version 1.0.1.3 at least you could call it 1013  

Congrats to the makers of this patch, i have a little problem with it, maybe you could help me: I first create a Survival (lighthouse) with no problem. Then, when i choose the Change Map vote option, the little picture (map's preview at the menu) doesn't change when i scroll the mouse over the different maps from each campaign

i agree with nicolaz, please be a little more careful with your wording

the executable update that you have for 1013 should be referred to as a "game update", not a "standalone patch"

thanks a lot for the great and hard work! best if you can pack it like exglade! it simplifies the process and noob friendly for those half l4d players  in garena

There seems to be some confusion with hosting a versus match, people are getting the idea it is broken in the newest version. I have hosted and played versus with up to six people (My ISP hates more than six) without lag flawlessly.

One last time, to host a versus match, from the main menu open your command console with tilde (~)

Type mp_gamemode versus; map l4d_vs_smalltown01_caves.

That will get you the new versus campaign, Death Toll for example. If you require help or notice any strange anomalies, don't hesitate to ask. Both 420Tulsa and I are frequent to the Garena Left4Dead USA Room, and these forums. Enjoy!

Hi 240tulsa, do you maybe have nohopeinhell.wav and snowballinhell.wav ?  They are in music\stmusic and music\the_end folders

Hmm im not familiar with that last wav file but the first one yes I know its missing. Unfortunately I haven't found anyone who has it yet so I cannot add it to the update. I never saw that the other one was missing.

Yeah, in lighthouse mission, it shows in console after I activate a trigger, these two are missing
